Private AI · Mining and minerals
The people who know why that pit wall behaves the way it does, which contractor actually delivers, and what went wrong in 2011 are retiring faster than they can be replaced. Meanwhile your resource data cannot be pasted into a public chatbot, and your crews know it. Oction Labs deploys private AI on infrastructure you control, trained on what your operation already knows.
Why the public tools do not fit
Drill results and reserve estimates are material non-public information until they are disclosed. Tailings and geotechnical records carry real liability. Contracts and pricing are commercially sensitive. None of that belongs in a service that trains on what you type.
It crosses a border, lands on infrastructure you do not control, and falls under a legal system that can compel it. Ask your counsel which one, and whether you could name the servers if a regulator asked.
The model runs on hardware you own, on your network. Your geological data, your contracts and your incident history stay where they already are. No third party sees them, and no external outage takes your tooling offline.
What gets deployed
Geotechnical reports, drill logs, environmental filings, procedures, contracts. Ask a question in plain language and get an answer with the source attached.
Core logs, old reports and microfiche that nobody can currently search. Digitised and made part of the same system rather than sitting in a container.
Structured interviews with the people about to retire, turned into something the next shift can actually query. This is the part that cannot be done after they leave.
On-premise means a remote site keeps working when the link drops. That is an operational argument for mining before it is ever a legal one.
Maintenance, ERP, document management, reporting. Connected to the systems already in place rather than another separate login.
Every answer traceable to a source document. You can show where a conclusion came from, which matters when the question is asked by a regulator.
Before we quote anything
We will not put numbers on your operation from the outside. These are what we ask on the first call, and if the answers are small we will tell you so.
How many people with twenty years or more on that site retire in the next three years?
When a question comes up that only one person can answer, what happens on the days they are not there?
How long does it take someone to find a specific historical report right now, and how often does it simply never get found?
How much of your record history exists only on paper, and what would it cost you to lose it?
Do you know today which staff are already pasting company information into consumer AI tools?
If a regulator asked which servers hold your data and which legal system can compel it, could you answer that this afternoon?
Investment
Single site or a defined set of departments. The mid-market entry point.
then
Multi-site operations, larger data estates and deeper integration.
then
Scoped separately when they apply
Next step
No deck and no pitch. We ask the six questions above, you tell us what the answers are, and between us we work out whether there is a case here. If there is not, that is a useful answer too.
How we talk about numbers. We do not publish savings figures for your industry, because we have not measured your operation and anyone quoting you a percentage before they have has made it up. The questions above exist so the numbers come from you. Set-up and monthly fees are floors, quoted against real scope, and we do not discount them to win a deal.
